Seasons greetings to all! We had a “perfect Christmas” in Vancouver yesterday. No, really.

According to Environment Canada, if there is at least two centimetres of snow on the ground at 7 a.m. on Dec. 25, then it’s officially a white Christmas. If there is also snow in the air at any point during the day, then the weather agency deems it a perfect Christmas.

The winter weather came early this year. Not so good for exploring, but very good for painting on the iPad and watching Christmas specials. I got some address requests from friends in the states wanting to send cards, and I have been anxiously awaiting them (international mail). I didn’t have my act together soon enough this year to reciprocate, so I got a jump on next year by painting some new card designs in Procreate.

I’m very inspired by vintage cards and stationery from the 1930s-80s, so I tried to channel that vibe. I also wanted to have a go at Krampus & the Yule Cat, who I only learned of recently (where have you been all my life, Yule cat???). And of course there’s a crying elf. He’s probably cursed. Happy New Year!!!!
